Lay a solid foundation for your new faith

If you're new to the Christian faith, the Foundations Group (FG for short) may be just the opportunity for you. Perhaps you've followed the Alpha Course and you wonder what’s next and how you can grow in your faith. Or maybe you've been a Christian for a while but have missed out on becoming well established in your faith.

What is Faith Foundations?

Faith Foundations is a new ministry at Crossroads Amsterdam. It began at the request of a group who had finished Alpha and knew they needed help to grow. Our goal is to help new Christians develop a thriving relationship with God. During five months together we teach and mentor around five essentials biblical truths upon which a strong foundation of faith can be built.

We have completed three groups as of fall 2010. We've had a lot of fun with each group as they have grown together and in faith. We are now in the process of considering what our next steps will be. Return at a later date for info on dates and specifics or email foundations@xrds.nl.

What can I expect?

1. You'll learn five essential truths of walking with Christ during our five months together. You'll begin to experience what it means to:

• develop intimacy with God
• claim the new identity which is yours in Christ
• know God's forgiveness and the grace of extending it to others
• grow in surrendering to Christ as Lord of your life
• begin to be transformed to be more like Jesus

These truths run deep and it may take a lifetime to grasp their full significance. But by introducing them to you early in your walk of faith, we'll help you to lay a solid foundation for healthy spiritual future.

2. You'll be connected with a mentor who will support you in your growth. Once a month we meet in mentor groups to help you to understand and apply what you've learned.

3. You'll learn how the Bible can speak to you Each night there's a short teaching, some interaction, and a Bible study around the theme. We stay with each theme for a month so that you can grasp its meaning for your life. Our desire is that you'll step into the adventure of reading the Bible for yourself and understanding its great promises for you.
